The study utilized the survey approach of research precisely the descriptive method. The said approach is use as much as the principal rationale of the study was to figure out the problems and/or situations under such factors that mostly affect their academic performance. Ten students of the different year level from pilot sections were asked to fill up a survey questionnaire. In order to determine the factors that affect student’s academic performance. This instrument was used to determine the problems and/or situations under such factors that mostly affect student’s academic performance. The survey questionnaire is composed of two sections. The introductory section of it includes basic questions used to identify the socio-demographic profiles of the student respondents. The second section of the survey questionnaire addresses the statements and questions under each factors mostly encountered by students. The questionnaire is consist of 35 items as indicators.

Student respondents are asked to indicate their most appropriate rating for each item. There are 40 respondents taken for the student respondents. As to age, most of the student respondents belongs to the age bracket of 14 and 16 years old which accounts for 12 or 30% of the total respondents. Female respondents have dominated male respondents which accounts for 26 or 65% of the total respondents. In terms of year level, the student respondents got an equal frequency and percentage which is 10 or 25% of the total respondents.

This data is being considered in the study undertaken. As to the socio-economic factors, under the number in the family, 39 or 97% of the students have brothers or sisters that also went to school while only 1 or 3% is the only child. While under the family income, 30 or 75% of the students’ parents have enough money for their school spendings, while the rest 10 or 25% of the students’ parents sometimes have don’t enough money for the spendings. On the other hand, 25 or 62% are supported or scholars of organizations and etc while the 15 or 38% are not.

As to the psychological factors, under the attitude towards school 33 or 82% listens attentively during discussions and participates actively, the remaining 7 or 18% sometimes are distracted. 32 or 80% pass their projects on time, 2 or 5% don’t and the remaining 6 or 15% sometimes do. Regarding their attendance in school, 21 or 52% have a complete attendance, 2 or 5% do absents in classes and 17 sometimes do. And on their study habbits, mostly the students studies when it is needed and a test is approaching.

Student respondents strongly agreed that their teachers have a good teaching skill ang guide and help them whenever they have difficulties in understanding their lesson. As to the environmental factors, most of the student respondents consider their home complete in sources of information and knowledge such as books, newspapers, personal computers with Internet connection, television and radio. But on the contrary, sometimes they can’t concentrate on their studies because of some distractions such as noise and sometimes they are concern of the exposed solutions that can constituate to health hazards.

CONCLUSION Based on the findings, the following conclusions were drawn regarding the factors that may affect the academic performance of a student. 1. Under the Socio-Economic Factors; number in the family, family income, support and technology 2. Under the Psychological Factors; their attitude towards school, attendance, study habbits and quality of teaching. 3. Under Environmental Factors; health condition, home environment and learning environment. All of this factors have such an big impact or affect on the academic performance of a student. It may be good but the matter fact is it can sometimes be bad.
