They traded with the Egyptians. Reaseachers found pots scattered all over Egypt, and the same ones in Knossos. But mostly, the city states were shipping goods everywhere. For example, Athens was trading there spices and goods with Knossos, while Knossos gave their pottery to them. But since the land of Greece was rocky, there wasn’t much to grow on. So they had colonies set up in other lands, so that they could import the food to the main city-state.
