The Assyrians, being the direct descendants of the Akkadians, invented the world’s first written language (cuneiform) and the 360-degree circle, established Hammurabi’s code of law, and are credited with many other military, artistic, and architectural achievements. Achievements being the invention of glass found in the Palace of Nimrud, the invention of the wheel, the division of the year into 360 days (12 months). The division of the day into 24 hours (12 hours day, 12 hours night). The Assyrians chose the number twelve specifically because of their twelve planets in their solar system. The Assyrians discovered the planets long before the Greeks or Romans, including the 12th planet they named Nibiru, that was passed down from Sumer. The Assyrians also divided the hour into 60 minutes and the minute into 60 seconds. Yes, they were even counting seconds. Assyrians also constructed the world’s first library in the history on man, the Royal Library of Ashurbanipal, named after King Ashurbanipal who was unique for his knowledge. Ashurbanipal was could read and write in the cuneiform which 400 letters/symbols, verses the English that only has 26 letters.For 300 years, Assyrians controlled the entire Fertile Crescent, from the Persian Gulf to Egypt.
