It was in the Babylonian captivity the periodin Jewish history during which a number of Jews of the ancientKingdom of Judah were captives in Babylonia. They were sieged for 7years ending the king of Judea Jeconias. His successor, zedequiaswere taken to Babylon 8 years after that. There were 3deportations. These deportations are dated to 597 BCE, c. 587 BCE,and c. 582 BCE.
