Why did the Paleolithic era have to migrate

The Paleolithic Era went from almost 3 million years ago to roughly 12 thousand years ago. The people who lived in that era were nomads, meaning they traveled, or migrated. They did this to follow their food sources, which were largely wild herd animals.
