Nubia is an African, Black woman. She is a female knight and gets into a battle with Wonder Woman in one issue- it is stopped as a draw before either girl gets hurt. No one questions why Nubia is permitted armor and Wonder Woman does not have protective devices. She was developed in several issues of Wonder Woman and oddly a run-in with Supergirl. She is a somewhat shady character, but could have been developed as a positive, Female Knight like the well-known Maid of Orleans, but sorry she wasn”t. As far as is known she is still alive in the background. Mego did a doll of her.
