Pagans throughout history have very interconnected relationships to their gods, and Ancient Romans were no exception.
Their gods were part of their households, each pagan was raised to believe they could speak directly to their gods without “clergy” to intercede or interpret for them.
Each day, month, season, and aspect of life had a god, goddess or a combination of several that held sway over it. Everything from the hearth fires, to which day was most auspicious to open a new business or embark on a holiday was overseen, guided and/or ruled by the pagan gods.
