the earth has a core of 2 parts- the center is solid and spins really fast- it makes the outer core spin too (even though its liquid) – floating on the liquid it magma- molten rock- and on that crust- the dried magma- the magma pressure and heat is always changing cause it is moving- the molten lava moves the crust plates on top of it around- when 2 are getting pushed together- the pressure builds up- then all of a sudden… BOOM!! they slip- kinda like if you put your 2 hands together and push together and slightly up on 1 and down on the other your hands will stick- the pressure builds- and then they slip- that causes the earthquake-
