How do archaeologists trace socio-economic differences in a Harappan society

Archaeologists have used certain strategies to trace socio-economic differences in Harappan society which includes studying burials. The dead in Harappan society were laid in pits. The differences in the way the burial pits were made and their contents could indicate social differences while others did not.
