Some advantages would be the society was well organized because everybody knew their place and did a good job to either move up the caste system when reincarnated or stay at the top of the system. Reincarnation was another advantage because the lowest people in the system (say the untouchables) could move up and have a better “second or third life”. Disavantages would be heriditary marriage, only social contact with your caste, and women only had the privilege of coming back as an animal, not reincarnated to a higher caste.
