The Delian League then defeated the Persians at Eurymedon 466 BCE and Cyprus 450 BCE.

They achieved these victories by good stratedy and tactics, fighting the Persians on ground/sea locations which optimised their superiority in naval tactics and their advantage of armoured infantry by fighting on ground which neutralised the superior Persian cavalry.
