The are several reasons for the maintenance of Chinese cultureafter invasions:

The complex civil service required to keep the countryeconomically healthy was run by the Mandarins (highly trainedbureaucratic scholars in the government of Imperial China). TheInvaders did not want it to fail and did not have the desire orambition to learn the language and accounting to continue runningit and allowed the mandarins to continue to be in charge. Theytherefore remained in power.
The Invaders were well treated by the Chinese and became lazy(as the mandarins were doing all the work) and eventually bredthemselves out of existence.
The Invaders were too small a force to control the millions ofChinese so they could be ignored.
Chinese culture had a significant inertia which a few Invaderscould not change
