If you ‘re a parent you know what we ‘re speaking about. In this inquiring phase our kids ‘s non-stop inquires can so be sort of palling as they ask, “ Why this? ” and “ Why that? ” and “ What is this? ” and “ What is that? ” and “ Where are we traveling? ” and “ When will we acquire at that place? ” and so on and so on.

GNB

Well, parents should be patient during this phase because kids NEED to inquire inquiries. If they do n’t, they ‘ll ne’er learn-they ‘ll ne’er acquire the replies they require in order to turn up and MATURE.

There's a specialist from your university waiting to help you with that essay.

Darmstadtium

Although this does remind me Brenda of the small male child who asked his pa how far off the Earth was from the Sun. His pa said, “ I do n’t cognize boy. ” “ Well how far off is the Earth from Mars? ” I do n’t cognize boy. ” “ Well pa, how far off is the Earth from Pluto? ” “ I do n’t cognize boy. ” The small chap said, “ Dad, you do n’t mind me inquiring you these inquiries do you? ” He said, “ No boy, of class non. I mean, if you ne’er ask you ‘ll ne’er larn. ” Precisely!

I bring this up because the fact is ADULTS demand to inquire inquiries as good. . . and acquire some replies! You see, seeking replies for the inquiries of life is an of import portion of our SPIRITUAL growing and adulthood.

I think Jesus inferred this in His Sermon on the Mount when He said, “ … everyone who ASKS receives ; and he who SEEKS, finds… ”

GNB

Well, for the following few Word Alive programmes we want to make some ASKING and SEEKING together by analyzing the replies to some of the great inquiries of the Bible…

Darmstadtium

replies that WE need in order to FIND and RECEIVE the apprehension WE require if we are to turn and maturate as God ‘s kids.

GNB

I do n’t cognize about you-but I ‘m really aroused about this survey. There ‘s a batch of things that I both NEED and WANT to larn from the texts environing all these genuinely Great inquiries.

By the manner, Word Alive is produced by Good News Broadcasting Association. We produce many Bible based programmes that go to radio Stationss around the universe. If you miss a programme in this series we ‘ll hold them recorded and available. We besides have free transcripts which we will direct to an electronic mail reference. I ‘ll give you reach inside informations at the terminal of the programme.

Now, our First inquiry in this survey is literally the first recorded inquiry of all time asked by a human being-the inquiry Cain asked God in Genesis 4:9- ” Am I my brother ‘s keeper? ”

Over to our Bible Teacher, Dr Derek Stringer.

Darmstadtium

Now, if you can take clasp of a Bible Lashkar-e-Taiba ‘s expression at the text environing it together. Genesis 4:1-16:

GNB

“ Adam ballad with his married woman Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, “ With the aid of the LORD I have brought forth a adult male. ”

Darmstadtium

Subsequently she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the dirt.

GNB

In the class of clip Cain brought some of the fruits of the dirt as an offering to the LORD. But Abel brought fat parts from some of the eldest of his flock.

Darmstadtium

The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering, but on Cain and his offering He did non look with favor.

GNB

So Cain was really angry, and his face was downcast. Then the LORD said to Cain, “ Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you non be accepted? But if you do non make what is right, wickedness is stooping at your door ; it desires to hold you, but you must get the hang it. ”

Darmstadtium

Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “ Let ‘s travel out to the field. ” And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

GNB

Then the LORD said to Cain, “ Where is your brother Abel? ” “ I do n’t cognize, ” he replied. “ Am I my brother ‘s keeper? ”

Darmstadtium

Now-in order to reap all the information possible from this inquiry and its reply, we need to endorse up and take a close expression at all that has happened in these nine poetries, so Lashkar-e-Taiba ‘s make so.

If you have your Christian bibles open you can see that our text picks up right after Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden. Shortly after that, Eve became pregnant and had their first kid.

Now, of class, all parents have PRIDE in their new born children-they HOPE that their kid will hold a long and productive life. I know a few anticipant parents right now are trusting this for their shortly to be born kids.

But to to the full understand what happened here we must hold on the fact that no parents in all of history have of all time had more HOPE for a kid than Adam and Eve did at the birth of Cain.

Let me explicate.

These two have merely been expelled from Paradise. But before God told them they had to go forth that fantastic topographic point, He promised them a Deliverer. Remember?

GNB

Genesis 3:15 Tells us that after the autumn God told Satan that this Deliverer-who would come from the “ seed of a adult female ” -would oppress his head-destroying Satan and his plants.

Darmstadtium

Well, as I said, after they left Eden Eve became pregnant-and of class Adam and Eve had ne’er seen a kid before. So, when it became obvious that life was turning in Eve ‘s uterus, I believe they began to Hope that this kid would or could be the promised Deliverer-the One Who would oppress the wicked, delusory snake and enable them to return to Eden.

GNB

They must hold counted the months and yearss until eventually the babe was born!

Darmstadtium

And one ground I think they looked at their kid in this manner was because of the NAME they gave him. They called him “ Cain, ” based on the Hebrew word which means, “ acquired. ” But in the context of their yearning for the Deliverer to come, I think it is best translated, “ I ‘ve got him! ” or “ Here he is! ”

Another thing that leads me to this decision is the actual interlingual rendition of poetry 1. And to acquire to that actual interlingual rendition foremost we have to gain that in the Hebrew, the words, “ with the aid of ” which we find in verse 1-are non there in the original text. The NIV includes them because it is the manner many transcribers think it should read but the words are non at that place in the Hebrew. And because they are non, the most actual diction of Eve ‘s statement in verse 1 would travel like this, “ I have brought forth a man-even the Godhead! ”

Now, of class Eve would non hold been claiming to give birth to God. No, she merely used the word for “ the Lord ” in the broader sense stating she brought Forth “ the 1 who gives life. ” Well by seting all this together I believe the best interlingual rendition for Eve ‘s statement would likely be this: “ I have brought forth a man-even the Deliverer. ”

Make you see why I say this? In Eve ‘s mind-in Adam ‘s mind-the life-giver had been born-the promised 1 who would destruct the work of the snake and give them back the life they wanted most-life in Eden! When Cain was born, they concluded their ostracism was over-that this kid would destruct the work of Satan and reconstruct them to life in the Garden of Eden.

GNB

And I think we can all understand how Adam and Eve felt.

Darmstadtium

Yes, they remembered how fantastic life in the Garden was and they longed to return it. Of class WE have no such memory to pull on-but inside I think we still have the same hankering our really first ascendants did. We all long for Eden.

I do n’t cognize about you but the older I get the more I ache to be free of this fallen universe and be in Heaven with my Lord and all my loved 1s who are already there-I mean the more friends I bury as a curate the more I want all this to be over!

Merely the idea of a topographic point where there is no more pain-no more sorrow-no more struggles-no more agony and death-a topographic point where I will see my Lord face-to-face-well it makes me impatient. It makes me desire to state, “ Hurry up Jesus! Come back today! I ‘m ready! ”

So, I for one understand Adam and Eve ‘s restlessness for God ‘s promised Jesus!

Well, in due clip a 2nd boy was born to the universe ‘s first parents and he was named, “ Abel ” which means, “ frail… ” proposing that the physical effects of wickedness were already going apparent in the human race. I mean, before the Fall-before Adam and Eve ‘s sin-everything was perfect.

But as Romans 8:21 says, since the autumn everything has been capable to “ … the bondage of decay. ”

Since wickedness entered the world-because it did-there has been sickness and ageing and decease.

In any instance, Abel ‘s NAME suggests that he was frail and sickly-which is likely why, as poetry 2 says, Cain, the stronger, became a FARMER-doing back-breaking agricultural labor whereas Abel, the weaker, became a SHEPHERD-quietly be givening the flocks.

Another thing we should observe is this-the NAMES of these first two kids intimation to the fact that there was an attitudinal Difference in the manner their parents looked at them.

Cain was the strong one-he was the favoured-the deliverer-the “ Here he is! ” CHILD.

Abel was the weaker-he was the “ frail… other kid. ” And-it WOULD be really easy for them to favor Cain, if they believed he was so a kid of fate, designed to carry through the great promise of God.

This brings a Question to my head. Could Adam and Eve ‘s yearning for the Deliverer and their belief that Cain was so the promised one-could their favoritism have led them to botch their first born?

GNB

Could their perceptual experience have led them to works the seeds of haughtiness and amour propre in Cain ‘s bosom?

Darmstadtium

That ‘s the inquiry. Merely maintain that in head as we study. And parents as you keep it in mind-ask yourself if you are learning your kid the importance of humbleness. Are you? Or would it be more accurate to state you are “ raising a small Cain ” at place?

Well, verse 3 says that a clip came when both brothers-now to the full grown-came to show an Offer to the Lord. And, this suggests that God must hold given specific direction to Adam, Eve, and their posterities when it came to offering forfeits. For illustration, the words in poetry 3 literally say, “ at the terminal of yearss ” significance that God had appointed a peculiar clip period at the terminal of which forfeits were to be offered. Possibly this was done on some kind of regular schedule-once a season-or one time a twelvemonth.

I besides think that even so there was a particular appointive Topographic point for this act of worship. And here ‘s why I think this-In the shutting words of Chapter 3 God set the WINGED CHERUBIM with a fire blade at the gateway to Eden. And so, many centuries subsequently, when God told Moses how to do the Tabernacle, He instructed him to include a mercy place with CHERUBIM whose WINGS would run into right over this place and this mercy place was the topographic point where offerings were to be placed.

Remember? The Day of Atonement was consummated here, when one time a twelvemonth, the High Priest brought in a lamb to give for the wickednesss of all the people.

Well, in my head it makes sense to reason that this pattern in Exodus originated in Genesis, here at the entryway of the Garden of Eden where this winged Cherubim stood with his blade. I think that it is really likely that the gateway of Eden was itself the FIRST clemency place, where one time a twelvemonth Adam and Eve and their kids were to come with an offering for the Lord. We do n’t cognize this… but it seems to do sense.

GNB

Okay-verse 3 says that on one of these appointed times Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil-the fruit and bring forth he had harvested-as an offering for God-to this first mercy place. But as verse 4 says Abel brought “ fat parts from some of the eldest of his flock. ”

Darmstadtium

The Bible besides says the Lord looked on his forfeit with favour-He recognized it-but He rejected Cain ‘s offering.

At this point another inquiry comes to mind-namely, “ How did these brothers KNOW Cain ‘s forfeit was rejected and Abel ‘s accepted? ” Well Genesis does n’t state us-but we get a hint from reading the Biblical histories of Gideon and Elijah. When these work forces offered to God, fire came down from heaven and consumed their offerings as an indicant of God ‘s credence of their sacrifices-so that ‘s likely what happened here.

Fire consumed Abel ‘s offering-but did non even touch Cain’s-it literally received a cold shoulder.

And I feel like a small kid at this point, because this brings ANOTHER QUESTION-a really of import one to my mind-and possibly yours-and here it is: Why did God accept Abel ‘s offering but reject that of his senior brother?

Well, the Bible does n’t state us so we can merely speculate-but there are at least three possibilities.

First, God ‘s response could hold had to make with the fact that Cain and Abel had different ATTITUDES about their forfeit.

You see, Cain must hold known that, as Genesis 3:17 Tell us, God had cursed the land due to Adam and Eve ‘s wickedness. To give an offering from the cursed land would hold been an abuse to God. It would be like our functioning dinner to a invitee on dirty dishes. So, it ‘s obvious that Cain ‘s offering reflected a deficiency of REVERENCE for God. But Cain ‘s offering besides reflected his CONCEIT-his belief that due to his difficult and careful work in his ain strength he had produced something from the cursed land.

This reminds me of an old Jimmy Stewart film. Stewart plays a husbandman during the Civil War and every clip his household sat down to a repast he prayed the same proud supplication: “ God, as You know WE worked the Fieldss. WE sowed the seed. WE weeded the harvests. WE kept the vermins off. WE harvested the harvests. WE cleaned it, WE cooked it-why, if WE did n’t work so difficult WE would n’t hold any of this nutrient… but we thank You for it anyhow. AMEN. ”

I mean, possibly God rejected Cain ‘s gift because like Stewart ‘s character in this film, Cain was excessively pleased with himself. Possibly his offering was given in pride-

GNB

and as James 4:6 Tells us, “ God opposes the proud. ”

Darmstadtium

This should remind us that whenever WE give to God-we make so as a symbol-a reminder of the fact that we would Be nil and HAVE nil if it were n’t for God ‘s grace. In other words, our offerings should be given in humbleness as a reverent act of worship.

And so another possible motivation for God ‘s response to their offerings would be the QUALITY of the offerings themselves.

GNB

Verse 4 says that Abel brought “ the first-lings of this flock and of the fat thereof ” –

Darmstadtium

and in that twenty-four hours and age fat was considered to be the choicest portion of an animate being. So, in other words, this text tells us that Abel brought the best he had to God. But, on the other manus, nil is said about Cain ‘s offering-just that he brought some of his green goods. To me, this seems to deduce that, unlike his brother, Cain kept the best for himself and gave God mediocre green goods… or the leftovers.

This reminds me of a narrative I heard of a adult female who said she ever saved her USED tea-bags to direct to missionaries. And do n’t laugh because over the old ages I ‘ve seen the same attitude reflected in vesture thrusts for missions. Talk to charity workers and they will state you that some of the apparels that acquire given are merely fit for the shit.

Some givers are like Abel in that they care adequate to direct the best-but others are more similar Cain in that they donate things that are worn out or torn-clothes that should be used as cleaning rags-not gifts for destitute people.

If we are to bask our giving and do our Lord proud of our gifts we should be more like Abel. Whenever we give to God or to others in His name we should Sacrifice and give the best-symbolic of our apprehension of the fact that when God gave us His lone Son-He gave us His best!

GNB

So, a good inquiry for us all to inquire ourselves is this: “ When it comes to my tithes and offerings, am I more like Abel or Cain? ”

Darmstadtium

Yes.

And so, a 3rd possible ground that God rejected Cain ‘s gift could hold to make with the offering MATERIAL itself.

Cain brought the fruit of the land but Abel brought the fruit of the flock. One brother brought VEGETATION. The other brought ANIMAL life.

And, in my head this is the MAIN ground Cain ‘s offering was rejected.

You see, God had already begun to learn them that the intent of these offerings was to expiate for wickedness and that expiation for wickedness required a substitute-something had to die-a life for a life.

Make you retrieve? In the Garden, an apron of foliages was deficient to cover Adam and Eve ‘s shame, so in Genesis 3:23 God provided them with carnal skins-implying the decease of a victim. Well, by the same item, the fruit of the land was deficient to cover Cain ‘s sin-and both Cain and his small brother would hold known this. Their parents would hold told them.

In fact, I believe God Himself would hold told them-Referring to the first set of apparels, He told them that they needed to understand that wickedness was no small thing. God used these teguments as the first of many object lessons down through the centuries to assist them and their posterities gain that wickedness leads to death-and because it does a sinless victim must decease in order that evildoers might be pardoned. I mean, even these first forfeits pointed frontward to Christ-the spotless Lamb of God Who would come to decease on the cross-and in that one sacrificial act, take our wickednesss on Himself. So, when Abel came with the offering of blood he was honoring God ‘s instructions-but like a rebellious student Cain ‘s proud offering showed that he ignored them.

GNB

If nil else, the record of God rejecting Cain ‘s offering should remind us that, as Hebrews 9:22 says, “ without the sloughing of blood there is no remittal of wickedness. ”

Darmstadtium

That ‘s why Jesus came. He did n’t come to earth merely to learn us good things. No-He came to die-to shed His cherished blood for us because that was the monetary value of expiating for our wickednesss… and God loved us excessively much non to pay it.

Well now, verse 7 says that God patiently, gracefully gave Cain a 2nd opportunity to acquire his offering right-and he COULD hold. Cain could hold traded some of his green goods for one of his brother ‘s lambs and sacrificed it. But his haughtiness and amour propre prevented him from making so. Alternatively he became angry-angry plenty to desire his brother dead-angry plenty to move on that desire and entice his brother into the Fieldss where he, the first kid born to humanity-commit the first murder-a premeditated, inhuman violent death.

God of class knew what had happened-His eyes see all things-His head knows all thoughts-but in His grace he gave Cain a opportunity to squeal his offense by inquiring, “ Cain, where is your brother? ” And this brings us to today ‘s question-as Cain sardonically replies, “ How should I cognize? Am I my brother ‘s keeper? ”

Well, what is the reply to this first inquiry of all time asked by a member of the human race? Was Cain responsible for non merely his brother ‘s death-but besides his life?

I think the reply to THAT inquiry is obvious-but it brings another inquiry to my asking head… viz. , “ Are we OUR brothers ‘ keepers? Are you and I responsible for the demands of other people? ” What do you believe?

Are you and I obligated to assist the alone people in this universe?

Is it our occupation to feed the hungry… to cloth the hapless?

Do we owe anything to the downtrodden-the orphans-the widows?

Is it our occupation to curate to the sick?

Are other people ‘s jobs our jobs?

If we see a fellow Christian engaging in wickedness, is it our occupation to state them-Do we have any duty for assisting steer them off from wickedness and back to righteous life?

Well, I ‘m regretful if it overwhelms you but the reply to all these inquiries is YES-because as Christians, in every sense of the word, we ARE so our brothers’-and sisters ‘ keeper!

Let me rapidly indicate out two basic facts that underscore this truth.

First God ‘s word TEACHES this… .the clear instruction of the Bible is that we are our brother ‘s keeper.

James 1:27 says, “ Religion that God the Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their hurt… . ”

GNB

1 John 3:10 and 17 says, “ Anyone who does non make what is right is non a kid of God ; nor is anyone who does non love his brother… If anyone has material ownerships and sees his brother in demand but has no commiseration on him, how can the love of God be in him? ” It goes on to state that every bit Christians we are to, “ … love non with words or lingua but with actions and in truth. ”

Darmstadtium

James 2:15 says that if we see a brother or sister without apparels or nutrient… and, “ … do nil about his physical demands… ” our religion is a dead religion.

GNB

Isaiah 58 says that God approves of people whose religion in Him moves them to “ … free the ironss of unfairness… set the laden free… portion nutrient with the hungry… provide the hapless with shelter… clothe the bare… ”

Darmstadtium

We could travel on and on-because as Deuteronomy 10:18 says, God, “ … defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner, giving him nutrient and vesture. ” and as His kids, He calls us to make the same.

Think of it this manner. As Christians, our concern is to make God ‘s concern and God ‘s concern is people!

Whenever we see a brother in demand, what we are truly seeing is God ask foring us to fall in Him in His work. So, whenever we come across a individual in demand we must gain this is a God thing-a Divine assignment! He ‘s naming us to fall in Him in making what is primary in His heart-and aid people.

The film, The Four Feathers is the narrative of a British soldier who, instead than travel to war, vacate his committee. His friends are shocked-and they show their belief that he is a coward by each directing him a white feather-which was the customary manner to convey this message back so. Later in the movie, this so called coward learns that his friends are in problem on the battleground… and he risks his ain life and travels to Africa to come to their assistance. In the procedure of tracking down his friends he is stranded in the dessert-dying of thirst. Well, an African man-a indigen of that country-comes across his unconscious organic structure and nurses him back to wellness. Then he really comes alongside him in his pursuit to assist his friends. In malice of the bad intervention he had experienced because of his race, over and over once more this adult male risks his ain life to assist. And, at the terminal of the movie he ‘s asked why he has done this… why this African alien has made person else ‘s concern his ain. His answer is really traveling. He says, “ I did this… because God put you in my manner. ” In his mind-perceived human demand was the same thing as God ‘s bid to assist.

Fellow Christian, the Bible Teachs that we excessively should encompass this philosophy-whenever we see a demand that we can meet-we must gain God is naming us to run into it. When God puts needy-lonely, hungry, fearful, ill, cursed people IN OUR WAY, He is stating us to travel to their assistance.

GNB

Now-unfortunately when faced with human need-many of us look the other way-we expression for an alibi non to assist.

Darmstadtium

It reminds me of the narrative about the amusing W. C. Fields. Toward the terminal of his life when he was bedfast and deceasing, a friend stopped by to see him and was surprised to happen him reading his Bible. This friend new that Fields had no love for the Christian religion so he asked him, “ Why in the universe are you reading the Bible? Are you looking for replies? ” And Fields replied, “ No, I ‘m looking for loopholes. ”

Well, when many of us read Jesus ‘ bid for us to put our lives down for our brothers in the same altruistic manner that He laid His life down for us, we excessively look for loopholes.

GNB

Like the spiritual people in Jesus ‘ fable of the Good Samaritan, when we encounter a brother in demand we tend to look for alibis to go through by on the other side.

Darmstadtium

We give a batch of grounds for making this but I think the most popular alibi is that we ‘re already worn out seeking to take attention of ourselves and we merely want a interruption. We do n’t desire to acquire any more tired than we already are. Well, my first response to people who think this manner would be to state, “ Where do we acquire the thought that Christians are supposed to be well-rested? ” The Bible does n’t learn that-in fact it teaches that we ‘re here to work.

GNB

As Jesus said in John 9: “ Equally long as it is twenty-four hours, we must make the work of Him Who sent Me. Night is coming, when no 1 can work. ”

Darmstadtium

In other words, remainder comes later-comfort is what Heaven-not Earth-is all approximately. We are here on this fallen universe to make God ‘s work-and as I said God ‘s work-God ‘s business-is people.

This life of ours is non a vacation. Heaven is the vacation. That ‘s when we move into the sign of the zodiacs God has prepared for us. Here and now-on this fallen universe of which we are impermanent residents-Christians SHOULD acquire tired! We can rest subsequently! When we join God in His work of assisting the needy, we will put on the line using our clip and money and energy-but that ‘s the manner it ‘s supposed to be on this side of infinity.

GNB

C. S. Lewis one time said, “ The lone topographic point outside of Heaven where you can be absolutely safe from all the dangers of love is snake pit. ”

Darmstadtium

And he ‘s right-it is unsafe to love-it ‘s tiring-costly even-but that ‘s what we ‘re here for. After all, we are called to DIE-to put our lives down for our brothers. And you know-the dry thing is when we DIE… when we give and give and give of all we have and are to assist people-only when we DIE in this manner do we genuinely begin to Populate! That ‘s when life gets exciting!

The primary ground Jesus calls us to servant-hood is non merely because other people need our service. It is because of what happens to US when we serve.

When we deny self and fall in God in His work by assisting others-we genuinely begin to see an abundant quality of life. This is because when we help the people God puts in our way-He provides us with His presence-His strength-His resources. So whenever we see a destitute individual and base on balls by on the other side-we ‘re non merely go throughing by that person-we ‘re go throughing up a opportunity to literally work side-by-side with Almighty God! We ‘re go throughing up a gustatory sensation of paradise-a opportunity to walk with God in His work-just as Adam and Eve walked with Him in the Garden of Eden.

So… we must be our brothers ‘ keeper because God ‘s Word teaches this… but besides because our WITNESS depends on it.

You see, as I inferred a minute ago, non merely are we responsible for people ‘s Physical needs-we are besides responsible for their SPIRITUAL needs. As Christians it is our occupation to fall in our Lord-not merely in feeding and dressing the poor-but besides in seeking and salvaging the lost. And the fact is, people wo n’t listen to us state them about God ‘s sacrificial love… until we sacrificially act to assist them. To them our willingness to acquire our custodies dirty and go involved in their demands is grounds of our experience with a loving God.

GNB

Somehow our cursed friends sense that as 1 John 3:14 says Christians show they are Christians-they show they “ … have passed from decease to life… ” when “ … they love other people. ”

Darmstadtium

And they are right, as Martin Luther observed, “ Faith entirely justifies, yet faith is ne’er entirely. It is ne’er without love ; if love is missing, neither is at that place faith, but mere lip service. ” Loving our neighbours-giving of ourselves to assist them-is so seeable grounds of our relation to God.

A lady Tells of prosecuting in a conversation with two twosomes one of which was Buddhist. About halfway through the conversation, one of the Christians lit up a coffin nail and apologised-saying he was seeking to give them up because he knew they hurt his testimony. The Buddhist adult female instantly interjected, “ Do n’t worry about it. You see when one of our ranks becomes a Christian, we do n’t watch the to see how good they live up to some self-imposed criterion of piousness. We watch them to see how they start handling people. ”

And they DO watch-because the truth is many times we have to Gain the right to portion our faith-and the manner we earn it is by populating it-and we LIVE it by “ maintaining ” our brothers.

GNB

You are listening to Word Alive with Derek Stringer. This is a Good News Broadcasting Association production.

Great Bible Questions is the rubric for this new series and we ‘ve been looking at the first inquiry in the Bible asked by Cain, “ Am I my brother ‘s keeper? ”

Derek will be back in merely a minute to round off today ‘s Word Alive. I merely want to take a minute to give you our contact inside informations because we like to hear from you. This series is recorded and for the monetary value of the managing charge we ‘ll direct the Cadmium ‘s to you. We make the transcripts available free to an electronic mail reference.

Darmstadtium

We come to that clip at the terminal of the programme when we respond to all God is and all He has done. This is so a clip of commitment-a clip of offering. In fact, I think it would be good for us to believe of this topographic point as God ‘s “ mercy place ” where He invites us to react by giving to Him-and we want to acquire this right, do n’t we? We want to react as Abel did by giving God our best… by coming to Him with the right attitude!

So, inquire yourself, right now… what do I need to give to God?

Is God naming you to fall in a church-to offer Him your clip and endowments to be used there-to get involved at a Church in the ministry to the pain, lost people of this universe?

Or-maybe your Attitude about the destitute people around you needs to change-neighbours, colleagues even mendicants in the street who you have avoided. And you need to state, God I want to react by giving my clip and resources… my ears, my custodies, my bosom to assist these people. I want to fall in You in Your work.

And so, possibly you are non a Christian.

You realise that you are a sinner-and that your wickedness offprints you from God. You know, subsequently in this chapter in Genesis God tells Cain, “ The blood of your brother is shouting to Me from the land. ” And in a similar manner our wickednesss shout out to God for justness. But the glorious intelligence is justness has been done. Jesus has paid the monetary value for our wickednesss.

In fact, Hebrews 12:24 says that, “ Jesus ‘ sprinkled blood speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. ” And that word is “ FORGIVE! Father, FORGIVE! ” Abel ‘s blood calls for retribution but Jesus ‘ blood calls out for our forgiveness.

Today you can hold that forgiveness… .God can rinse your wickednesss off and forgive you and come into your bosom and life.
