We were alive during the ice age because it hasn’t ended. It started about 2.6 million years ago and it is still here. The ice age is composed of glacial, (cold), and interglacial, (warm), periods and we live in a warm period. During the most recent glaciation Neanderthal man lived in southern Europe and the middle east. Modern European man co-existed in those areas also and of course various Africans lived in Africa, native Australians in Australia and Asians in Asia, possibly with other human species.
