The Neolithic revolution was when agriculture and herding replacedmigratory hunting and gathering as the dominant lifestyle of humansocieties. About 12,000 years ago, a highly significant change inhuman culture occurred when humans in the Middle East began todevelop animal husbandry and agriculture. Evidence suggests thatthis change can be traced to a shift in the climate which broughtfirst unusually warm and wet, and then colder and drier conditionsthat made hunting and gathering increasingly difficult.
