Cicero left behind a very diverse array of ideas. He was known as an excellent, and easily readable writer, and had an interest in a wide variety of subjects. Because of this many texts written by Cicero remained into the Middle Ages, and his writings provide much of what is known of Roman history. Cicero also influenced many of the founding fathers of The United States of America, with his democratic philosophy. In terms of what he left behind for Rome, Cicero predicted the collapse of the Roman Republic, and the continuation of a Roman empire ran by a dictator.
