Everyone was short in size in those days. People grew taller whenthey began to eat more meat protein. The Macedonians, effective inbattle as they were, were quite short. Look at the sarcophagus ofKing David in Wales – an average man for his time (2,000 yearsafter the Phoenicians), he is about 5 ft tall. A diet based onadequate animal protein rather than grain protein makes thedifference. The Japanese, traditionally short, have grown in heightover half a century of increasing animal and fish protein.
