The Persians reshaped their empire without the Asian Greek cities hitherto within their boundaries. They had to intervene 60 years later imposing the King’s Peace on the warring Greek cities to stop the inter-Greek wars spilling over into their empire and disrupting it once more (it was to stop this happening that caused the Persian to try to incorporate the cities in their empire in the first place).
