First off, a previous answer to this question was “they didn’tstupid” which is the most wrong answer I’ve seen on this site.Every American Indian culture (with two potential exceptions ) wasstone age before Columbus, and they all had (at the very least, some) clothing. Not to mention the stone age cultures that arestill around today.

To answer to your question – they made leather from animal skin, and used furs in colder areas. Stone age societies, especiallypaleolithic societies, don’t have enough surplus of anything towaste a single thing; wasting something would usually result in yougetting killed (though many times by your fellow tribesmen/clansmenwho were pissed that you wasted something).
