The Roman people enjoyed diverse entertainments. They liked spectator events such as chariot racing, precision equestrian events such as the Troy games, the festival of the October Horse, which marked the end of the campaigning season, and of course the gladiatorial bouts. They enjoyed theater, poetry readings and they were great ball players. Board games of different types and knucklebones were popular as were various types of dice games.
