The first, is how many Armenians, Greeks, and Assyrians would therebe if the Armenian Genocide, the various Greek Genocides, and theAssyrian genocide did not occur. Of course, all numbers are onlyguesses, but given that the Armenian Genocide resulted in 1.5million deaths, the Greek Genocide resulted in 800,000 deaths, andthe Assyrian genocide resulted in 300,000 deaths, these are goodnumbers to start with. Also considering that Greeks and Armeniansin the Ottoman Empire had positive population growth rates andtheir populations have nearly doubled in the last century in areasunaffected by the genocide (such as independent Greece andRussian/Soviet-occupied Armenia), there would be roughly 4.5million additional Greeks and Armenians. As for Assyrians, it ismore questionable as Assyrians did not have consistent positivepopulation growth and did not have any country to protect theirethnic kindred as Greeks and Armenians did. However, it isestimated that the genocide affected half of the living Assyrianpopulation at the time, so the current Assyrian population (1.6million) should be a rough guess at how many Assyrians have beenlost.

The second question is how many of them would still live in Turkey.Especially in the case of the Greeks, it is unlikely that theywould have stayed in Turkey after Turkish independence. Armeniansand Assyrians would likely have fought for increased autonomy inTurkey and been repressed like the Kurds as a result, but manywould likely have stayed, being unable to leave. (Russian Armeniawas not open to mass immigration like Greece was.) Admittedly, allof this is conjecture, but is based on the historical reactionsafter the genocides.
