From 550 BCE Persia absorbed Media, and used this combined strengthto absorb the Babylonian Empire. It then expanded further over thenext 50 years, under Kings Cyrus the Great, Cambyses and Darius theGreat, to incorporate Asia Minor, Central Asia, the rest of theMiddle East, Libya-Egypt and today’s Pakistan.
