Good vs. Evil

Many evil acts start out with good intentions. The television series Breaking Bad demonstrates the endless struggle between good and evil in human beings. In this television series, goodness is associated with taking care of your family. Throughout the program, Walter White (the main character) is at a constant battle with himself in the attempt to decide how far he will go to protect his family after he is gone. Looking from afar, one can easily separate the good side from the bad through their contrasting policies, regulations and spiritually beliefs. There are times, however, when Walter is dominated by his fatherly instinct but in the end, he unfortunately lets the evil take over his life. Some fathers will do anything to protect their family from harm, but when does that cross the lineWalter White was a high school chemistry teacher with late-stage lung cancer, no insurance and an empty bank account. By any measure, Walter White was a good man confronting a bad end. After the cancer diagnosis, Walter was in pretty much a dismal place: broke, sick, and depressed. Walter made his crucial decision to manufacture and sell methamphetamine to make sure he left his pregnant wife and disabled son enough money to get by on after his death. He kept this a secret from his family and friends because he knew they would never stand for this type of life. Making the meth was Walter’s first of many decisions to let evil take over everything he knew that was right. His intention was to sell enough drugs and then stop, but that is not how things turned out.
Walter was making decisions solely on his dying, instead of his family living. He and his partner made, distributed a sold meth that was very profitable. This is where he should have stopped. Greed and power took over at this point. He wanted to be the best even if it was going to be in an illegal business where people are dying using his product. He was proud to be the best drug dealer in the Southwest. At this point…
