They gathered many things: plant food (like berries, roots, nuts, mushrooms, and edible leaves), firewood, materials for making ropes and strings, animal parts (like antlers, feathers, horns, and bones), and special stones for tools and weapons. People also gathered pigments for making paints, honey and beeswax, edible insects, tree sap (for glue and other uses), medicinal plants, and anything else that could be stored easily and used later.
