What did Cyrus the great do after he captured Babylon

The conquest was only getting in town for allthe Babylonians to receive him with open arms. There was no fight.Under his rule, the empire embraced all the previous civilizedstates of the ancient Near East, expanded vastly and eventuallyconquered most of Southwest Asia and much of Central Asia and theCaucasus. At the time of Babylon, his army worked a detour of theriver so they could walk in a waist deep river and the Babyloniansreceived him. He worked two edicts described in the Bible as beingmade by Cyrus the Great left a lasting legacy on the Jewishreligion where because of his policies in Babylonia, and one ofthem was to let the Jewish go back to Israel and build the templeback again.
