What TV program was like children of the stones but the stones had eyes and moved closer to the house

I can remember watching this with my sister in the 70’sIt was very scary and I can remember what looked liked gurkins surrounding a house and they got closer to the house each week. There was a disabled boy in it and the creatures had eyes.I thought it might be children of the stones another 70’s program but when I got the DVD I found it was not. I am sure it was earlier than 1977Actually it was called “Escape into the Night” based on a book called “Marianne Dreams” by Catherine Storr. It was also made into a film in the 90’s called “Paperhouse”.
