How long after David became king did the Assyrians conquer Israel

Scholars are somewhat uncertain about David – whether he existed, whether he was a tribal chieftain or king of Judah, or whether he really was king of a United Monarchy of Israel just as the Bible says.

According to the Bible, David became king about 1000 BCE. Israel was destroyed in 722 BCC, so David would have become king a little under three hundred years before the final conquest of Israel.
